Joe is originally from Raliegh area of NC. He was a foster child growing up through age 18. He joined the military after high school in which he did 8 years of service in the Army as a tanker. Joe said he drew a lot as a kid, but he never dabbled into any painting until later on in life. Joe is self-taught artist. His Grandmother did have a small role into success of being an artist. He said that she would push him to draw things of interest. Joe moved to Wilmington NC from the Raliegh area in 2019. Joe has been wanting to take his artwork to the next level by using oils instead of acrylics. He has recently started oil painting which bring a lot more detail.

I am a Travel Registered Nurse full time. I am originally from Richmond, VA. I came to Wilmington in search of the fall redfish line tug. I am currently working at New Hanover hospital in Wilmington and I stay on Carolina Beach. I have been here for almost 2 years now, so I guess you could say I am a local at this point. I met Joseph out fishing on the kayak and we became friends. He told me summer 2020 that he paints art as a hobby but I never knew he was this great. He made the Shark painting for me and when I saw that painting in person I was about shocked. His fine detail in his work is unbelievable. I got the idea of putting his stuff on Tee- shirts like Guy Harvey. Personally, I love fishing and I love fishing shirts. There are things I love about Joe's work, such as seeing these fish in the wild chasing bait, the water streaks portrayed on the fish and the action of what the bait does in order to prevent becoming prey.  So after buying the Shark painting from him, I knew I wanted to really get this Tee-shirt business talk into a reality.
